There’s an important piece of history many Americans don’t fully appreciate. During the 1920s and 1930s, a strong bipartisan isolationist movement shaped U.S. foreign policy. That retreat had serious consequences—among them, the conditions that allowed the Chinese Communist Party to form and gain strength with support from the Soviet Union. While America looked inward, communist influence spread largely unopposed.
Today, the CCP stands as one of the most significant strategic challenges confronting the United States.
