Pollard, who was born in America, was turned away from the CIA due to being deemed emotionally unstable before joining the US Navy. Pollard would then spy for Israel, giving them US intelligence that Israel was explicitly restricted from obtaining.
Pollard justified the crime by saying he was molded by a lifetime of antisemitic treatment, leading to his arrest for spying and a 30-year prison sentence.
After his release, Trump donor Miriam Adelson personally flew Pollard to Israel on her personal jet.
