Sen. Elissa Slotkin @SenatorSlotkin - I am sickened by the attack in Sydney. On a night meant for celebration, Jewish families in Australia, gathering in joy on the first night of Hanukkah, were targeted because of their faith.
The Australian Jewish community has been ringing the alarm about the spike in antisemitic targeting, and now at least 11 people have paid the ultimate price of that targeted hate.
As I and so many others around the country light the candles on the first night of Hanukkah tonight, we will pray for the families of those wounded and killed, and we will work toward a world where light is stronger than darkness.
