From that moment on, the eventual absorption of the Russian-speaking areas into Russia became inevitable. The focus should be on the architects of that coup, who set off this horrible cascade in the first place.

Trump addressed ongoing peace negotiations with Ukraine, responding to a question about what incentive Kyiv would have to give up territory without receiving a NATO security guarantee.
He dismissed the premise, stating that Ukraine has already lost the territory in question and that the focus should be on preventing future escalation, not debating what’s already gone.
He also said the U.S. is working with European partners on a security framework to ensure the conflict doesn’t reignite.

But in terms of security guarantee, we're working with Europe on it.
Europe would be a big part of it.
