There never was a “downgrade,” of such standards, in fact, the opposite is true—the 2025 version changes of the USCG Harassing Behaviors Prevention, Response, and Accountability Instruction *STRENGTHENS* our ability to report, investigate, and prosecute those who violate longstanding policy.
The symbols listed in the policy include, but are not limited to, nooses, swastikas, and any symbols or flags that have been adopted by hate-based groups to represent supremacy, racial or religious intolerance, antisemitism, or any other form of bias.
Now, as a result of this gross reporting, Democrat senators are trying to extort the heroic men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard and hold the safety and security of the American people hostage to score cheap political points by holding up Admiral Lunday’s nomination to be commandant.
It is unfortunate that the Coast Guard must take time away from its mission to protect our nation and save American lives to respond to these baseless smears and revolting lies from the media. The American people would do well do unsubscribe from this divisive rag.
