Just Jen R𝕏 @JustJenRX - GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) -Law enforcement is looking to identify a suspect police said allegedly vandalized several books from the Mesa County Library.
According to a report our newsroom obtained, on December 17th, an officer with the Grand Junction Police Department went to the Central Library Branch after learning from library security that several books were ripped up and thrown away in the trash. Using video surveillance footage, the officer found a woman had carried several books into the bathroom, then leaving the bathroom and throwing the books away.
The officer in the report described the woman as about 70 to 80 years old, wearing a red plaid shirt, red vest, blue jeans, with white hair and carrying a red plaid jacket. In the report, library security said the books damaged wouldn’t be put on the shelves if they were returned damaged, that the books were of a genre that discussed transgender topics, and that the damage would cost $98.90.
The officer also listed the names of the books that were found damaged:

•“Love and Resistance”
•“Transgender Teen”
•“Beyond Trans Does Gender Matter”
