The Midnight Express provides superior capability and handling in congested or constrained waterways, enables sustained operations in higher sea states, and brings the power and redundancy needed for extended patrols and high‑risk interdictions. Alongside other capabilities the Coast Guard is bringing aboard, the Midnight Express provides a flexible, scalable package optimized for rapidly detecting, containing, and interdicting non‑compliant vessels in the maritime domain.
Powered by Force Design 2028 and historic investment, the Coast Guard is forging a more agile, capable, and responsive force. Midnight Express just kicked that into a higher gear.
