Kristen Garcia Dumont @kgarciadumont - Ok still throttled so still need yall to help this info get out. Talked to several linemen over past 2 days under promise of total anonymity. Here’s what I found out:
1) They said it wasn’t necessarily that NES turned union crews away but more that the NES would not negotiate on the requirements to be considered by NES for hire (e.g. cap on wage rates, fronting lodging costs etc). What NES pays is very low compared to others.
2) They really fear being fired and/or not hired up the next time, so they were very nervous about saying too much. They said the guy who originally raised union pay issue is likely getting fired.
3) They agree wholeheartedly this has been mismanaged and say even middle management doesn’t seem to quite know what’s going on.
