Kelly Loeffler @SBA_Kelly - The 8(a) Program was designed to give “economically disadvantaged” small businesses an opportunity to compete for federal contracts. Not only did the Biden Administration use it to promote a discriminatory DEI agenda - it also looked the other way when large companies exploited it.
Today, SBA took action to terminate over 150 8(a) firms who are too big to qualify as "disadvantaged.” These firms, based in Washington, D.C. - shocker! - received $1.3 billion in federal contracts during the Biden Administration. Of that, $1 billion was awarded through noncompetitive sole-source contracts.
It’s just our latest effort to root out the big companies, fraudsters, and DEI agenda that took over this program during the last Admin - at the direct expense of taxpayers and legitimate small businesses.
