>>175783Ed Gallrein @EdGallrein - Leadership is not about being in charge, no - it's about taking care of those in your charge.
I am very humbled and honored to have the below endorsement from Command Master Chief Clay Sherman, US Navy SEAL (Retired), a fellow Navy SEAL Command Master Chief I served with. A Command Master Chief is equivalent to a Command Sergeant Major - the highest rank and position an enlisted can achieve - a very high bar to reach, and especially more so in the SEAL Teams.
Master Chief Sherman is not just a senior enlisted SEAL; he is a Vietnam combat veteran who was my Team Chief during my first assignment at SEAL Team SIX. We served in combat in Operation JUST CAUSE, as well as countless contingency operations - as they were called - that are highly classified. He had a wealth of operational experience and wisdom that made me a better leader; accordingly, I owe Master Chief Sherman my deepest gratitude as a mentor who taught me the art of servant leadership.

The endorsement below is given by Command Master Chief Clay Sherman, US Navy SEAL (Retired):
I served with Ed Gallrein when he was a young Navy Lieutenant working complex maritime counterterrorism operations. Even back then, Ed stood out for his humility, discipline, and willingness to listen.
His qualifications are impressive. In addition to being a Navy SEAL, he earned the Army Ranger qualification and served in combat with the Ranger Regiment. Ed is also the only Navy SEAL to earn the prestigious Army Combat Parachutist Badge for a full combat-equipment parachute jump under direct enemy fire with the Rangers. But Ed never carried any of that with ego. He carried it with responsibility.
As a Command Master Chief (the Senior Enlisted Leader and Advisor to a SEAL Team Commanding Officer) with a military and Law Enforcement Officer career spanning four decades, I’ve worked with officers of every type. Ed was one of the few who consistently sought out the insight of his seasoned enlisted operators before making decisions. That willingness to listen is the mark of a leader who understands that good judgment comes from valuing the people around you.
What has always stood out to me is how he treats people. The SEAL community holds major reunions on both coasts, but the yearly gathering hosted by Ed on his family’s farm is one of the best in the country. That once-standard farm is now a community landmark built with intention, creativity, and a desire to bring people together. That kind of impact doesn’t come from business strategy alone; it comes from the heart.
Based on the character and judgment I saw firsthand, I have every confidence that Ed Gallrein approaches any responsibility with integrity, thoughtfulness, and genuine commitment to those he serves.
Master Chief Clay W. Sherman, SEAL / USN (RET.)
Command Master Chief
BUD/S Class 55
After dedicating three decades to defending our nation, both domestically and internationally, I am prepared to bring that experience and commitment to Washington to advocate on your behalf.
