The Hearing Room: Attorney General Pam Bondi Testifies Before House Committee, Part 1
Attorney General Pam Bondi testified before the House Judiciary Committee on oversight of the Justice Department. Democrats and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (KY) pressed her on her handling of the Epstein files--secret documents and other files related to the late convicted financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, half of which recently became public. She was grilled about President Trump's and his administration's ties to Epstein, why the names of co-conspirators were redacted but the names of survivors were unredacted, and why the Justice Department had not prosecuted anyone named in the files. Some members of the committee, including Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD), accused Ms. Bondi of engaging in a cover-up. Several survivors were in attendance in the audience and responded nonverbally to questions from the committee.
