Wojciech Pawelczyk @WojPawelczyk - There was an interesting discussion today on Human Events by @JackPosobiec on psychodynamics of transgenderism with links to violence. Speaking from the modern psychoanalytic perspective (and as someone who is particularly interested in everything "schizo" --- especially more severe psychopathology like schizoid personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, or schizophrenia), while it may not always be the case of core psychosis in these trans individuals (because they may not have general lack of reality testing), it seems to me that, along with narcissistic dynamics (especially in its malignant form, which is fueled not only by the sense of grandiosity but also by primitive aggression), the psychoanalytic "identity diffusion" concept might be more relevant here --- it characterizes severe personality disorders that are part of a broader Borderline Personality Organization (Kernberg's structural model), which are closer to psychosis. In the case of identity diffusion, the ego is severely dissociated (although not totally fragmented like in psychosis) and often driven by primitive aggression.
In other words, violent transgender people are not necessarily psychotic, but they seem to have some kind of "identity disorder" mixed with primitive internal aggression.
