Tim Walz & MN Democrats aren’t just coming after “assault rifles” — HF 3433 would ban nearly every semiautomatic firearm (rifles & many pistols).
The bill makes it unlawful to transfer, own, or possess covered firearms.
Felony penalty: up to 5 years in prison + $25,000 fine.
“Grandfathered” in name only:
State certificate required to keep what you already own
Unlimited warrantless home inspections by law enforcement
Recurring fees + renewal every 3 years
Use restricted to your own land or government-approved range only
No transfers — zero selling, gifting, or inheritance
This is a blatant violation of the 2nd Amendment (right to keep & bear commonly-owned arms), 4th (warrantless searches), 5th (due process/property takings), and 14th (applies those protections to states).
HF 3433 is scheduled for committee hearing February 24, 2026.
This must reach SCOTUS ASAP — innocent, law-abiding citizens cannot be turned into felons overnight and lose their rights & livelihoods.
