In Washington, the constitution gives you an "emergency brake" called a referendum. If the legislature passes a law you hate, you gather signatures, put it on the ballot, and the law stops until the voters decide. That is how a Republic is supposed to work.
But the current majority just cut those brake lines.
They attached an "Emergency Clause" to the new 9.9% income tax. By doing that, they legally barred you from filing a referendum. Boom. Your voice is gone before the ink is even dry.

See they know that clause doesn't fit this situation. It's complete BS. It’s a Fake Emergency. This wasn't for a natural disaster. They used it on a tax that saw record-breaking opposition. If this was a "win" for the people, they wouldn't be so terrified to let the people vote on it. It doesn't even go into practice until 2027... Emergency?
They know an income tax has died at the ballot box 10 times. So, they used a legal loophole to make sure you never get an 11th chance.
Because they blocked the referendum, you now have to do an "Initiative to the People." That requires double the signatures and allows them to collect your money for a year while you fight.
This is a "King" move. They didn't just pass a policy; they manipulated the rules to ensure the populus can't fight back. We can mope about it... or we can expose the mechanism.
Consent of the governed isn't a suggestion. It’s the foundation.
