U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement @ICEgov - NEW ENGLAND SECURES PRISON SENTENCE FOR CALIFORNIA MAN IN COUNTERFEIT DRUG SCAM
Jimmy Fu, a U.S. citizen born in China living in West Hills, CA, landed himself in prison after an ICE @HSI_HQ probe into an India-based transnational criminal organization selling counterfeit drugs — including drugs containing fentanyl — via open net pharmaceutical websites.
During Fu’s sentencing March 19, he learned he’ll serve one year in prison and suffer the forfeiture of more than $689K.
During the ICE @HSINewEngland investigation, at least 18 undercover purchases for prescription drugs were processed by Fu’s business, Axson Data, with each of the payments deposited into an Axson bank account. A review of all Axson’s bank accounts revealed thousands of checks deposited from individuals across the United States for various amounts of money ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
