America 250: Reel America: "Independence" - 1976. Commissioned by the National Park Service for the 1976 Bicentennial celebrations, this film directed by John Huston and was shown in Philadelphia's Independence Visitor Center. Filmed on location near and inside Independence Hall, the story features actor Eli Wallach as Benjamin Franklin and includes recreations of historic events from the Revolution through the Constitutional Convention.

U.S. House of Representatives: Congressional 250th Time Capsule Act. Representatives debated and passed a bill requiring the Capitol's architect to create a congressional time capsule in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The capsule would be buried in the Capitol Visitor Center on or before July 4, 2026. It would include a joint letter from congressional leadership, along with any additional items they choose. The capsule would remain sealed until July 4, 2276.
