DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - IMO, it’s likely both. I’m old enough to be told when I actually was harassed — “that’s how it goes, you leave or you don’t be believed. Either way, you go.”
So in a sense I do share empathy with BelieveAllSuvivors, whatever hashtag campaign is there.
But in another sense: women themselves are way more tribal than they give themselves credit for. They will side over the worst rapist as long as said rapist is in their “tribe.” It’s a very twisted interpretation of what your wife is apparently called to correct… women are meant to be a helpmeet. But in absence of a male factor… whose needs the helpmeet meet, help dash meet?
And so the lost and wandering young female helpmeet ends up defending objectively evil someone like Swalwell to their death.
If I were dictator, I would not stop social culture campaigns at encouraging women to have more babies. I’d outright teach them that they are not meant to navigate life alone.
