2:30 AM — FATAL SHOOTING ON GEORGIA AVE NW; MAN DIES AFTER TRANSPORT
WASHINGTON, D.C. — MPD is investigating a fatal shooting in Northwest D.C. that left an adult male dead early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred on April 26, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m. in the 2800 block of Georgia Avenue NW, where Third District officers responded to reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male unconscious and not breathing, suffering from gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where despite all lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead.
At this time, no suspect information has been released.
MPD detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
