But then came the surprise:
He pled NOT GUILTY and his defense immediately demanded a trial date.
Prosecutors didn’t expect it.
The room went quiet.
The defense is now moving to subpoena Congress, including January 6th committee records.
And they may argue an “alternate perpetrator” theory - suggesting someone else could be responsible.
