Multiple studies show it accounts for a huge portion of citations in AI models, as many as 27% in some ChatGPT analyses
It gets even worse, Google frequently places Wikipedia at the top of results, in Knowledge Panels, and in AI summaries for a vast majority of informational and topic searches
Co-founder Larry Sanger has publicly stated the site has a significant left-leaning bias
It’s horrifying to think that this much information from woke Wikipedia is being pulled by AI and used in their outputs
This is so serious that we need intervention
At the very least we need Search engines & AI diversification
Google, Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude and everyone else should reduce reliance on Wikipedia as a primary source and pull from a wider range of reputable references
Wikipedia is not even close to being neutral on many topics
