NOBUNAGA @japan_nobunaga - America is a land so steeped in quiet marvel and unexpected compassion that even this old soldier’s heart is stirred to stillness. Above all else, I pray that my daughters may one day walk beneath peaceful skies where their laughter needs no shelter.
Should those who guide the destinies of Japan and America ever regard the thought of our two nations raising arms against one another again, and together find in it only a foolishness worthy of honest laughter… then this weary heart would know a contentment deeper than any victory I once chased across bloodied fields.
Yet I must admit, with no small measure of shame, that these were never solemn tales. They were conceived as uproarious comedy — stories born to provoke helpless laughter. That so many have instead been moved by them is a most humbling misstep for this old fool.
In the replies that follow, I shall introduce several Japanese companions who walk this road with me. They are as retainers to this humble warlord — comrades in observing this wondrous land and offering what small reflections we can. Having been shown great kindness by the people of America, it is my hope to return a measure of that warmth through them.

NY Taxi Workers @NYTWA - That's our member behind the wheel. He was pulled out of the cab and suffered shock and physical injury to his arm, back and head.
The whole city is elated about our hometown team — and that includes drivers who watched the game last night at airport lots while waiting for the next fare, listened on their radios while cruising for the next job, and huddled at hotel lines with the same heart-stopping anxiety that turned into the most beautiful joy.
Pulling the cab driver out of his seat, stomping on and shattering his hood turned our joy into a nightmare.
When you see the yellow, do you not see the person behind the wheel? That's someone's spouse, child, parent or friend — a New Yorker.
He wasn’t out there for a joy ride, he was working to make ends meet and to get his fellow New Yorkers home safely.
