U.S. Marines @USMC - Today, we honor and remember the #Marines who took the fight to the enemy during Operation Branding Iron 14 years ago.
Over a 17-day operation in the summer of 2012, the Marines of 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment pushed deep into a heavily fortified stronghold between Now Zad and Musa Qala in the northern portion of Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Enduring extreme conditions and intense firefights, they disrupted multiple insurgent supply networks.
Semper Fidelis.
