Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump - Video: Sen. Mike Lee: Okay, so a lot has happened today, but I've got a concern.
We do have a lot to do, a lot of work that needs to be done.
The Save America Act really does need to be passed.
Why are we taking a recess right now?
Why on earth is the Senate wanting to recess for two weeks?
Now, I get it. America's 250th birthday is coming up. That's great.
It's all the more reason why we should finish our work.
It's all the more reason why we should finish, do everything we possibly can to pass the Save America Act, instead of recessing for two weeks, only to come back and work for a few weeks and then recess for another five or six weeks after that.
Why?
Why even bother to spend all this time and all this effort campaigning and running for office if, when we get here, we're constantly taking a recess?
A recess at a moment when the Republican Party controls the House and the Senate and the White House.
Why?
Why do we do this?
There's got to be a better way, a way that doesn't constantly involve saying, "oh, wait, we've got to take a recess. We've got to leave."
The American people deserve better than this.
They deserve to have free and fair elections, and we've got to fix it.
