DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Correct. A hard thing to accept is that it was the post-Cold War Republicans who aggressively pushed for foreign aid and remittances. The theory being that enough money/help flowing into third world countries would naturally move a nation away from survival mode and into free commerce, as opposed to Communism, and create more free markets.
You saw this thinking last year when the Senate killed any remittance tax. Of course, we now have a lot of circumstantial evidence that remittances create dependency and choke off emerging markets, just like how welfare creates dependency.
George W. Bush was the biggest prophet of intervention-by-money.

DataRepublican (small r) @DataRepublican - Trump summarized it better than me. Bolton is a madman who wants constant war.

DC_Draino @DC_Draino - We certainly have our division problems in the Republican Party, but it’s nothing compared to the MAJOR problem Democrats are dealing with.
They are now battling between America-hating Islamic communism and America-hating trans socialism.
And the nutjob extremists controlling their party machinery think that what sells in the bluest parts of NYC is the recipe for national elections.
