There’s a pathological narcissism infecting some of the Candace followers. If you have a big following and disagree with her then you get this:
Claims you’ve been paid off, that Israel owns you, that "nobody" trusts you, that you’re in on it and/or that all the work you’ve done is "suspect" now.
Because narcissists can’t fathom or accept someone simply disagreeing with them. Everything has to fit into the conspiracy. So if you’re not with them, you MUST be part of it.
This is how narcissists operate. It’s all or nothing. They use language that’s all encompassing and dramatic. It’s everyone or nobody. No nuance. No room for dissent because dissent is disrespect. You MUST agree she’s the only one fighting for justice.
To them there’s no room for good people to just disagree about any of this. It’s a vitriol she’s been encouraging with her posts too.
For the record: I’ve never received a dime or any valuables from Israel, from a representative of theirs or anyone else for my comments about Charlie’s death. In fact, I’ve never taken money from them or a proxy for them at all, EVER. Nor would I because I’d find it supremely unAmerican and unethical for a million reasons.
I’m not saying this describes everyone following her at this point. Many others are just confused, searching for answers or captured by the morbid entertainment trap she’s created. Those people can turn back and I hope they do but I don’t think the narcissists will.
If you’re in the Candace curious lane, I just ask 2 things of you: Examine the language used by her top supporters and compare it to how narcissists talk. #2: Tune out all of us for the trial. Just take in the evidence yourself, make notes and then return back to watch what everyone said. See if it comports with the facts and your own common sense.
And finally, no I’m not saying Tyler Robinson acted alone. He may not have. There are real questions about the trans accounts that had foreknowledge, about George Zinn and other pieces but what she’s done is create a viscous, National Enquirer level spectacle filled with 20% plausible questions to hook you in and 80% bullshit supported by selective framing.
Her spectacle has hurt the revival Charlie sparked. Her behavior has fractured parts of the cohesive movement he spent his life building. And it’s put his loved ones in danger when he isn’t there to physically protect them. As someone who loved and admired him, and spoke to him days before his murder, I feel a duty to say all of this.
