Feds For Freedom @feds4freedomusa - Silo-ing information is common occurrence when dealing with sensitive information.
In some cases this is a good. Optimistically, most of the time this is a good thing. Do you really want PII (personally identifiable information) available to all employees? Everyone, every where? Or just the people that have a need to know?
However this fundamentally creates gatekeepers to the information. This gives gatekeepers an incredible amount of power and advantage.
Ideally people in those positions would recognize, respect and use discipline, discernment and caution.
The unfortunate reality is the opposite. Too many times it has been abused, obfuscated, and twisted. Why? Many reasons including protecting the institution, personal gain, and too much trust.
Have we not learned our lesson from Covid? How did it benefit the American people to “blindly trust” those gatekeepers of information?
The truth is scary and it may make the institution look bad, but it’s the only path forward.
