A pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Schiff is a global health researcher who helped discover a highly lethal infant brain disease, which is an underdiagnosed cause of sepsis in infants living in resource-limited settings.
We discussed Dr. Schiff’s experience as a surgical intern, his decision to leave his scientific lane, and his interest in improving clinical care for patients.
