Sarah Adams @sarahadams - Every time a woman reports stalking or escalating threats and isn't taken seriously, the clock starts ticking.
I've dealt with stalkers and far more serious threats from terrorist groups. I'm fortunate to live in Florida, where my local sheriff's office has responded immediately, taken my word seriously, and done their part. That should be the standard everywhere, not the exception.
Stalking isn't "just harassment." It's often the precursor to violence. Taking these reports seriously doesn't just protect one victim. It can prevent the next attack and save lives.
