Matthew Boyle @mboyle1 - Couple thoughts on Michigan primary — first off, Abdul El Sayed underperformed his polls and expectations. Yes he won and a win is a win, but everyone thought this guy was going to absolutely trounce Haley Stevens and he couldn’t even put up 50 percent. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly for the Republicans, still do not underestimate him. He does have real energy with the grassroots base of the left wing of the Democratic Party socialist movement, and underestimating him would be a mistake. Republicans need to fight as hard as they can, and as smart as they can, all the way through Nov. 3. But that first point means the second is possible: El Sayed’s little number means he can be beaten, but whether he will be beaten is up to the Republicans. https://x.com/mboyle1/status/2084903106899251518
