U.S. Coast Guard @USCG - Getting Arctic ready in the Pacific Northwest!
@USCG awarded a $173.7 million contract to the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to modernize Base Seattle, strengthening the infrastructure needed to homeport and sustain the Service’s future polar security cutters.
Part of a multi-year effort, this contract will add a new pier, structural enhancements, and utility and electrical upgrades. All of these will strengthen Base Seattle’s ability to homeport and maintain the cutters necessary for essential Arctic missions.
The project is funded by annual appropriations and historic investment provided by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

U.S. Coast Guard @USCG - As a Coast Guard reservist, Jeffrey Palazzo rescued dozens of people from the water when the cargo ship Golden Venture ran aground in 1993. 
As a New York City firefighter, he gave his life to save others on Sept. 11, 2001. 
On Sept. 12, 2026, @USCG commissioned its newest Fast Response Cutter, USCGC Jeffrey Palazzo (WPC 1163), in his honor, as well as the memory of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11. 
We are forever grateful. 
We will never forget.
