Statement by the Official Spokesperson of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Major General Turki Al-Malki:
"The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Terrorist Houthi Militia towards the city of Riyadh at dawn on Saturday. September 19, 2026.
The escalation by the Terrorist Houthi Militia and its continued attempts to target civilians and civilian objects in the capital, Riyadh, a city inhabited by over eight million citizens and residents, demonstrate the Militia's intransigence and its persistent, deliberate, and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian objects, reflecting hostile and terrorist behavior.
The Houthi Militia also attempted to target civilians and civilian objects in the cities of Baish, Taif, Farasan, and Yanbu, but these hostile attempts were thwarted by air defense systems.
The Coalition Command holds the inherent right to take appropriate measures, in accordance with the Customary International Humanitarian Law, to deter the behavior of the Terrorist Houthi Militia."
