Dan Sullivan led the crowd in several chants of “No Show Peltola.” He also praised VP Vance for trying to help Alaska “every day” and expressed gratitude to Vance for coming all the way to Alaska.
Sullivan either accidentally or jokingly referred to Vance as the “President of the United States,” as he introduced the VP, then said that he was getting ahead of himself.
The VP took the stage at 6:09pm local time to huge cheers from the crowd. He says it’s his first time in Alaska.
“You're tough,” he tells Alaskans as he brings up candidates Sullivan and Nick Begich. “You're self-reliant. You feel pride in your past and confidence in a great Alaska country. It's an attitude exemplified by the two men I am proud to stand here with today.”
On Begich: “the simple truth is because he has taken that great Alaskan work ethic and he's brought it to Washington D.C. Every single day, Nick cares about one single thing, and that's the delivery of each and every single person in this room, each and every single person in the state of Alaska. So november 3…I’m asking you to support a guy who has always had Alaska's back. Support a guy who fights for you every single day. Support the re-election of Congressman Nick Begich.”
On Sullivan: “one of the best people that I served with during my two years in the United States Senate.” Also: “a guy who doesn't care whether he's popular in…D.C. A guy who doesn't care how many hits he gets on TV. A guy who cares about whether he fights for the men and women of the state. That is Marine Corps veteran and your great Senator Dan Sullivan.”
On Mary Peltola: VP says she just doesn’t show up to do her job “Alaskans kicked out of Congress in 2024” for Nick Begich.
“Her sole job was to support Alaska in the House of Representatives. Yet she couldn't be bothered to show up to one in five votes.”
Points to her support for men in women’s sports “Here's the thing…when the far left calls, Mary answers. She does exactly what they tell her to do.”
He also slams Peltola for voting against her own legislation and for allegedly using taxpayer dollars for DoorDash.
