At the conclusion of his speech, he talked about other Italians.
“The Italian Americans gave us the talent and strength of baseball legend Joe DiMaggio… The unforgettable movies of my friend who, we just gave him a great Kennedy Center honor, Sylvester Stallone. The music of another friend of mine, Frank Sinatra. And many other great heroes like Anthony Scalia,… We happen to have a Supreme Court justice who is Italian. And I'm telling you he is great. Alito. He's a great man, a great intellect, a great, great man. So we love Italian Americans. I love you, that's why I'm here. That's why I take a little more time with you.”
He invited the crowd to then look at the ballroom construction.

White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - VP pool note #8 - Vance says won’t be watching Ft Hood livestream
VP Vance gaggled on topics including midterms, Ohio, affordability, and Ft Hood firing squad livestream plans
Asked how livestream plan meshes with his Christian Faith:
“Well, first of all, I see these announcements. I don't know that that's actually going to happen. Let's let's sort of see what I think it's going to happen in December when when he's executed.
“But what I try to remind people is, look, this is a guy who committed, in my view, the worst terrorist attack on American soil outside of 9/11, the people that he was meant to treat, the Army soldiers that he was meant to treat for mental illness and other problems, he took them at their most vulnerable and gunned down these people where they lived.
“Now that said, I mean, look, if it's through live stream, I'm not going to be watching it.”
Pls check against recording. Otter here. We are boarding now
