Department of War CTO @DoWCTO - The @DeptofWar successfully received mitigation results from its mandated research security audits of 30 universities. Each university has now fully mitigated its identified relationships with foreign entities of concern listed on the most recent NDAA Section 1286 list, resulting in more than 80 termination-related actions.
Safeguarding taxpayer-funded research from intellectual property theft and unauthorized technology transfer is a national security imperative. The Department of War has ZERO TOLERANCE for academic collaborations that may expose critical research to adversarial exploitation.
The Department will continue to work with Congress to update the NDAA Section 1286 list and assess universities that retain problematic relationships with entities on the list.
