White House Press Pool Reports @WHPressPool - VP Pool Report #7 - Vance wrapped
The VP wrapped his remarks at 3:31 p.m. Crowd was seated most of the time but got on their feet at the end.
Other highlights from the VP’s remarks:
Vance said there’s so much he’s proud of in the 18 months of the administration, including steps to increase refining capacity. He said Democrats are the party to blame for affordability problems and high energy prices:
“So vote for the people who have solutions to lower the cost of gas. Don't vote for the people who made the problem to begin with,” he said.
He also reminded the crowd that he served in North Carolina while he served in the Marines.
Vance also said one of the things he was proudest of is that FEMA committed $7.5 billion dollars to rebuilding all the damage caused by Helene. He then announced that the U.S. government was going to send $858M in additional disaster relief to North Carolina.
