I agree. I have an old bolt action that had a cutout for stripper clips, but the cutout is just a rectangular cut, and it was slightly too narrow for the clips that I would use (1903 springfield ones) and because of the cut there isn't enough material there to cut out a proper clip guide.
Damned PoS. Eventually I will weld something in there so clips fit well.
