He didn't quite explain how Nephilin specifically are connected, just assumed due to chronology? As in "these are based on ancient stuff so it has to go back to nephilin"?
He doesn't seem to mention the mental mechanisms of rituals that would give another reasons why clowns and such look immaterial. As in, how being confronted with the surreal makes the mind question its capacity to judge reality and become influenceable. A necessary component of ritual magic.
