Well, if you come expecting a Dan Trachtenberg/Ridley Scott sci-fi thing using the name of Predator to fund its weird esoteric robot fetish movies, its great.
If you expected Predator, as in soldiers vs aliens high testosterone, obviously not.

It works really well as a action/comedy set in the far-scifi world that is being developed around Alien, mixed in with some Avatar/Jurassic Park-like alien world setting.
The most salient quality is that it is funny in a non-marvel way.
