It also depends on the Sun. If one could put our hands out of space in Earth orbit, it would not freeze, but burn due to the Sun's radiation. We don't burn here for we have the atmosphere and ozone layer. In spass no such things.
So we have to protect the crap we want to heat from radiation so it won't just heat up more from the Sun. Then solve the radiator issue to get rid of the accumulating heat.
