What you can't do is force him to change his views.
There is this thing the "overton window" it can be adapted to people's thinking too. Have to "open" the window (or rather the shutters) to make things appear in his view. And if he hears about something he can mull over them. With time if enough information is dripfed he might start getting it.
But if you try to argue and cram things down at once he won't accept it.
