I did not know this at all, I thought manual would be much higher. My driving teacher told me I could choose, but she recommended me to do automatic first since it would be way easier. Seems like a good idea, I imagine automatic to be relatively easy to pass the test
In Germany it's still 75% automatic, but growing towards automatic and manual on the decline
Georgia is 90% automatic
