That video you posted is interesting. Communicating with "yourself" via your imagination seems like an approachable thing to do. I always figured that stuff like that didn't count since I would just be making it all up in a way.

In altered states of mind the line between "daydreaming" (making things up) and your unconscious acting on its own becomes very much clear.
It can get to the point of religious experiences, if you dig deep enough.
Feelings are a good guide. You cannot just imagine yourself into feeling something, so usually it is a tell you are doing something.

lol. He's so wrong about it being a similar fad to goths though. Not only because of the fact that trannyhood goes deeper than a mere aesthetic* but because they were mostly shunned by mainstream media unlike trannies which are put on a pedestal and even have laws written for them or get welfare money just for being that way

https://youtube.com/watch?v=Auas3pnRKuk [Embed] this popped up on my recs and as I had surmised from the title she touches on essentially the same issues that I had with that indian dude's thoughts. also saw this comment which I found interesting. specifically how he sort of draws a line between two distinct lenses through which to experience life (the mind and whatever you want to call the other one), each with its pros and cons, which is a conception of this issue that I personally like better than the idea that one of them is necessarily superior. For all my complaining, I'm not sure I want the sort of equalizing experience that these people talk about, where everything and everyone is equal and loved equally. I like intensity, I like being capable of hate as well as love, I accept that there should be "downs" in order to be able to appreciate the "ups." just because I want less of the bad doesn't mean I should rearrange everything within myself

The other day I cracked a joke about indian gurus advising that you try and win the lotto. But I think that's unironically going to be my worldview of choice. Just keep playing until you win. If you ever do, you won't need to worry about any of these silly coping mechanisms for poorfags anymore. If you don't, at least on your deathbed you'll know you tried and you were smarter than all the low iq npcs that didn't because "omg it's obviously a scheme to keep the poor poor do you even know how low the odds of winning are ffs if you hadn't dropped out of high school you'd be capable of calculating it and you'd realize blah blah blah"

Morning.

>>38938
To put it simply, you only get the admin privileges of your mind computer. What you do with it is up to you. There are hindus escaping into bliss dimensions so they don't have to smell the poo and the corpses around them, there are self-made billionaires that wrote themselves an automaton to make the hard parts while they relax inside their minds. Possibilities are endless and doing so will indeed fuck with your perspective of the world and yourself, but it won't prevent you from having intense feelings, it mostly messes up with the reason why you would seek them, just as a matter of perceiving the reality of things.
You get to feel intense things over the meta-game, rather than being tricked by the games within that system. And you can still feel the games within that system, as you can have identities that fully immerge in them.

I'm somewhat uniquely biased, because before fixing myself, I had very limited feelings, just happy/angry in intense levels and no empathy or any kind of subtle feelings. So I gained in both intensity and depth of experience.

I'm highly skeptical of metaphysical claims, I think its far more likely that those people are just exploring their own minds alone and confusing it for gods and confusing the abstract constructs with real things.
Pythagoreans and other Mathematic cults are a good example of this:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=_IkaetPoBZM [Embed]

I don't think repeating god figures, archetypes and "perennial knowledge" are proof of a shared metaphysical realm. Its more likely how the hardware of the brain manifests in software. Like how computers have drivers, protocols, networks, etc... to deal with their separate components and systems.

People seem to call this perspective Secular Paganism.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_paganism

I do believe there's more likely an afterlife than not, but I don't think any of those experiences proves it, just because of how powerful the human mind is. If there are real metaphysical things happening, we really can't tell them apart.

The story of Natasha Demkina was one of my early inspirations on this subject (I even homage her using her surname as my lead character's).
She is a russian girl who people claim to have "X-Ray vision", because she can see other people's illnesses and diagnose them accurately.
A bunch of american(I think) scientist went to test her, and by restricting her access to them (First not allowing her to talk to them, then not allowing them to move, and later blocking their eyes with a sunglass, etc...) they managed to reduce her accuracy from 97% to 48% or something, and this proves she DOES NOT HAVE XRAY VISION. Thus she is a fraud, and they leave.

She was like, 9 years old.

don't knock it til you try it is a generic argument and never a great one, but it's true that I don't know what that feels like. Again, one half of the idea sounds appealing, the other half a bit questionable

>>38944
I do wish I could feel subtly content or sad more often rather than dealing in extremes. Sounds like you had it worse than me, but I do have kind of the same problem. Also whenever I'm talking about this I can't help but remember that I was content like 90% of the time as a NEET :/ I guess I could achieve that state now too, but doing it through these complicated devices takes a lot more effort than just being young and careless and playing vidya all day. Contentment came to me naturally back then

Unfortunately this seems inevitable in the long term, I think. She has already entered the cave of evil (hollywood) which means that she has no people around her who would have warned her about the dangers, and she is unlikely to leave the cave on her own, nor does she have anyone to guide her out of it since her parents and friends let go to there in the first place

>>38956
>I'm listening to that Ramana video right now. It's tough for me to pay close enough attention to it as it's very relaxing to listen to. Maybe I'm 2dumb.
That is not bad if that takes place. It is supposed to be relaxing, and there are pauses in between the sentence in which a short "meditation" occurs for the listener, because your mind will be quiet as it is waiting for the next word to arrive; in that silence you will experience a short "no mind".
Did any of what is said in the vid resonate with you in some way?

It's a fancy version of old Mind Machines, that in their theory work by using stimuli to change the brain wave frequency. It does happen on ECG that the brain waves match the light input, but I think its more of a sensorial overload thing.
You can try with this:

It does it using the phone's flashlight, you have to hold it with your eyes closed near it.

I'd rather only post it somewhere without lurkers like the discord.
It's UE5, but I did write some C++ plugins to use the deeper functions that are not exposed in blueprint.
Writing your own engine is only worth it for weirder 3D projects or 2D projects. Too much hassle for 3D high end stuff.

I want to allocate some time each day to learning C++ and see how far I can get with developing a game. I just have to hold myself back a little bit because I would probably spend 24/7 on it due to autism, so I have to restrict myself to only doing 30minutes to 1 hour a day

As a C++ 2D project for learning I would recommend doing the graphics with SDL and physics with Box2D.
Not reinventing the wheel and learning to get as much done as fast as possible is far more important than learning to be capable of doing the hard shit or making it more performant than everyone else's or doing new shit nobody does. Those things are more like specializations you get later.
I wish I knew that a decade ago.

>I wish I knew that a decade ago.
I appreciate the advice and that makes sense. I always thought it would take like 5-10 years or so to make a game, since I would have to do everything from scratch and that is why I never started with it, because I thought it would be too time consuming. Also I used to think that I was too dumb to do it

So this means, in your game you utilize a lot of graphics that already exist within the UE5 framework/library or how do you create models or characters and landscapes and so on? You must use some premade graphics and models then? How much of that do you create yourself? Or which part of the game development would you say do you spend the most time on?

I use as much as I can to save time without turning into an asset flip. Mostly the Quixel Megascans you get access by using Unreal. I try to transform them to suit my game's style.
But characters, hero props, etc... everything is custom made.
With A.I shit I'm gonna abuse it to hell.
Once you experience what is the workload to make games independently, you realize its only possible by cheating. And big studios do it constantly.

The part that takes more time do to is iterating the game to get it good/fun.
When making a game, be sure you are not making A game, you are making two or three interactions of it, until you know enough about the idea to make it right.
So always prototype fast and cheap until you get to "fun".
Some times its not possible, some games are BAD up until years into development, and only become good games in the last minutes of development. GTA/Open World games are notoriously like that.

its a mixed bag. i really love my job but it takes 80% of my life and its incredibly stressfull for shit pay in retrospective. i usually spend time related to work/work around 60 hours a week. i get to enjoy the vacations though during which i refuse to work for my sanity
problem is that i dont give that much of a fuck still. havent had a fridge, sofa, table, tv or regular bed for the past 3 years(when i got my job) and pretty much live like that computer screen+camping chair in empty appartment picture meme
still dont have a dirty clothes basket thing which i told myself id buy 3 years ago i just throw shit on the floor and clean up whenever
i couldnt invite anyone my age to my place who doesnt know me and the way i live already

also its a long story but i tryharded last year to get some coworker's attention. lost 10 kilos and put on 8 kilos of muscle lifting, got skincare routine, put on contacts, stopped alcohol and smoking. pretty much got in the best shape physically/mentally of my life but it didnt work out and since then stopped trying because why would i i failed on that specific case.

wish id have the patience to try again like that since i realize now i was tunnel visionning on this girl because waifuing is a pathology and a real obsession that is shit irl. i likely could have gotten in a normal relationship with another girl if i wasnt so stubborn at the time

Have you been hiring african child prostitutes?

I listened to that Indian guy some more. That idea of being born with and uncluttered hallway, and cluttering it on purpose was interesting to me. Another analogy is a man who is born in the shade, walks into the harsh sunlight, then spends his whole life wanting to return to the shade.
I don't much like the idea of clearing my mind so much that I am practically asleep. It seems like an odd goal to pursue.

It's strange, but I think it just wasn't very compressed the first time. I looked at both using ImageMagick, and the original's compression had 100% quality and a chroma subsampling of 4:4:4 while the second's had 94% quality and a chroma subsampling of 4:2:0. I don't know much about image compression, but when I applied the same settings of the original to other images, I got the same results (i.e. 4-5x the file size).

I don't much like the idea of clearing my mind so much that I am practically asleep. It seems like an odd goal to pursue.

Where did you get that from? Why would you be asleep? If you have high consciousness levels and meditate you are the opposite of asleep, you are more awake than most

>Here's that section of the video I was referring to. It's 45:25 if you don't want to use the youtube.

What he means is that you are in a selfless state both in deep sleep and in meditation. What you mean is asleep in the sense of being unconscious. But the state he describes is the opposite of unconscious, you are completely conscious, it's just that you don't have a sense of "I" in that state. You are just your awareness itself without your mind or thoughts

The idea behind the sleep analogy is to make you aware of the fact that your perception of yourself (my name is xxx, i am xx years old, i hold such an such beliefs, and so on) disappears for a while during sleep, but you still exist within that time. Which raises the question what is it that exists within that time; it is not you as an ego, it is something else

They Crawl Beneath is a decent monster mobie. But not very cosmic. Since you are somewhat into weirder subjects lately, have you seen Justin Benson's stuff? Resolution and The Endless in particular. Housewife is interesting as well, pretty unique piece.

As for other general recs, of stuff I liked lately, just re-watched Gantz 0 (3D adaptation of an anime) and it is fucking gorgeous, only japanese 3D I have ever been impressed outside of games.

Many girls have started to censor their feet now , unironically , because of people posting weird comments under any pic that has bare feet in it, and also because of the internet they have become more aware of foot fetishism in general. $26k is a lot. The second generation Dacias rebadged as Renaults are still sold here, for around $10-11k. Most brands have models around the $12k mark, with Volkswagen and Peugeot being slightly more upmarket as usual.

People complain that they're not as well built and full featured as their first world counterparts, but our market is a lot better than it used to be relative to NA/EU. Back in the day car companies didn't come up with exclusive econoboxes for third world markets, instead they just continued selling older models indefinitely and without much thought or effort. That was the case with the Falcon, Corsa, 504, R12, 127, 500, and many others. 1978 models being sold in 1998 with barely any updates. The 504 being sold alongside the 206, Falcons sitting next to 4th gen Escorts in a dealership. It had its charm but objectively speaking we're better off now. Well except for the indian shitboxes, but hopefully those should go away if our economy recovers even slightly

>>39169
I've spent a lot of time thinking about just diving head first into those 12 hour shifts. There are a few key problems

1) I wouldn't really be "grinding" in any sense other than earning enough money to feed myself. That part is nice and all, but other than that I wouldn't be doing much. I could finally move out and live on my own, but if I did that I'd have no disposable income whatsoever, and it's not even a safe bet because there are literally zero places available in this town right now

2) The shifts are very long. Doc said I could shitpost or something while I was there, but it's not the same as doing it at home is it? What if there are cameras and I don't have any privacy? I don't care if they see the scat porn but what if they find out I talk to weird people like you guys?

3) The fact that the shifts are so long also put me in basically the same place I was in when I was a complete shut-in NEET. Except without the blind optimism and the gaming PC. Not what I'd call progress

Granted there are pros to go along with the cons but so far I haven't convinced myself that it's worth it

What I would do if I were you is to put all money that I can spare into crypto (XRP mostly) and then start taking profits once it reaches $10+. But this is not financial advice and you should seek a legal financial advisor before making any financial decisions
I have around 70% of my savings invested in crypto. Which is probably more risk taking than most people can stomach, but for an average person I would recommend to put at least 5-10% into crypto, otherwise they will miss out. And another 5-10% in silver/gold is a good idea as well and is a good counter mechanism play to protect yourself from the impending economic collapse and inflation. What most people don't know is that the gold and silver market is heavily artificially suppressed by JP Morgan, who keep the prices low. The worst thing you can do is to just keep money in a normal bank where it continually loses its value to ever increasing inflation
Crypto is still similar to the early days of the internet when people didn't know that it was going to become huge, and there is still a big potential for growth

>70 is ballsy. The things I don't like about crypto is it fits into the "you will own nothing" gameplan, and it's kinda hard to spend too. That said I will be buying some more in this dip.
If you do, it's always good to employ a 'dollar cost average' strategy, which means to distribute your buys over a certain amount of time. i.e. if you want to spend 1000 dollars, you could buy each week on a fixed day for 100 dollars, and then repeat the same process every week until you have no more to spend. with this strategy you can avoid larger swings of the market because you will get the average price. i don't think you can really go wrong with buying when a lot of the cryptos are down 80 or 90percent; even if it goes lower, the market always recovers eventually

>How is JP morgan keeping the gold price low? Do they have a big stockpile of it?
JP Morgan is somehow authorized to issue paper gold and silver, so they basically can print as much of it as they want, and with that, they can control and suppress the price. the people who buy it on paper want to avoid the hassle of having to store physical gold or silver, but they do have the option to trade in their papers for actual gold or silver. most people do not do this, so there is a lot of this virtually traded gold and silver in circulation, much more than what actually exists. if a run on gold or silver were to occur, they would not have enough physical gold and silver to distribute to the people who want it.
JP Morgan has been paying fines in the billions for manipulating the market like this, but the benefit of doing this outweighs the fines for them
So it's basically an open secret that the gold and silver price is massively manipulated

rate this car vid btw

https://www.pcgamer.com/artist-banned-from-art-subreddit-because-their-work-looked-ai-generated/ lol AI art generation is the gift that keeps on giving

>Moran is against AI art themselves, telling Motherboard, "There's no passion if you can create an artwork that way. And the biggest problem is that I worry about the development of AI art, all of the artists will lose their passion to create a painting."
I think what he really means by "passion" is "effort." That's the only real difference I can see between painting something yourself or having a computer do it for you. Granted the tech isn't advanced enough yet that it can understand exactly what you want from it, so there's no point in having that debate right now

I think a parallel can be made with music. Theoretically, a great composer doesn't need to know how to play any instruments. And just as a virtuoso doesn't always make a composer, a skilled drawer (for lack of a better term) doesn't always make a true artist. I think the real talent of an artist in any field isn't so much in technique as in conception. Although, having said that, I do think that learning technique helps to improve your ability to be a creator. In any case, it's hard for me to be very sympathetic to these artists. It's not like we're putting Raphael out of work.

True, it's mostly furry porn artists. That's a good point about AI not being able to compose things. Those Bosch paintings where there's like 40 guys looking at each other come to mind. It seems like AI is a long way away from doing that.

James Hetfield never learned how to read music and neither have a lot of other great contemporaries. Back in the day that wouldn't have been possible but now it is relatively common. And more recently instruments too have become a thing of the past in some of the most popular genres. Depending how you look at it, it's either the death of true, honest, skill based composing or its birth
