Things that need to be said:

1) In a community with such a gender ratio it is inevitable that women will receive a huge amount of abuse. This is because abusers have less potential targets. This is true even in the case where individual men in the cummunity are less likely to be abusers compared to men in the general population (which I belive to be the case).
This is why the /r/sneerclub response of "see we told you rationalists are evil" is retarded.

2) She was mentally ill to the point of suicide. There is no way for me to say it without sounding evil but it's likely that her interpretations of certain events were influenced by her mental state and should be taken with a grain of salt.
