Hi tech, i'm tired of windows.

I will go to linux, but I need know which linux i will usage.

I am in doubt between the backbox and Kali Linux, if you have more recommendations, I accept (debian priorizer).

I have a 4GB pendrive, is it enough to change the operating system?

Resisting my natural instinct to tell you to shut up or leave, Debian.

>I am in doubt between the backbox and Kali Linux
You are too stupid or mexican for those.

>I have a 4GB pendrive, is it enough to change the operating system?
Some usb sticks work, some don't. Size isn't really an issue, it's whether it boots. Sandisk works well IIRC. Flash the iso with unetbootin, set your bios to boot the usb and see if it works.

Idiots like you are why this board suffers from a low user count, because new users are told to fuck off and start elsewhere (And don't tell me that sending them to 8chan is a good alternative, we all know that every friendly alternative is a steaming pile of shit).

The future looks bleak.

It's clearly a troll thread you fuck, and I gave the guy real advice anyway. What are you off right now? Take your damn meds.

It's probably a troll thread and the guy even gave the OP a good advice.
You're the one that should fuck off. We've already discussed this "positive" thoughts here, you'll penetrate this community, go to hacker news spread your agenda there.

I tend to take statements literally, inference often leads to misinterpretation because you are attempting to interpret a statement using your own individual judgment. Perhaps the OP may in fact, be highly incompetent and absolutely clueless, but telling them to fuck off isn't going to fix it, they don't even have resources to jump to on this medium, and telling them to go to 8chan/4chan isn't a solution (Those imageboards are lost).
>you'll penetrate this community, go to hacker news spread your agenda there.
What "agenda"? Do you honestly believe that I am attempting to subvert or harm this community? I would gain more from trolling the attendants of /pol/.

That is the smartest thing I believe anyone has ever written. Truly you are a master philosopher and not an epsilon minus sub retard.

I've dealt with retards before, especially retards on imageboards, the OP may very well be one of them but you definitely are.
>epsilon minus
What? The entire reason I started this argument is because faggots years ago told me to go to reddit/4chan for help because they were too cantankerous to offer input.

That individual (Not even sure if the creator of that post is a human, but the statistics say that it should be), is not me.

It is quite annoying to be told to "fuck off" whenever one asks for advice or help. The OP was clearly incompetent, but that doesn't mean we should get one less person off of windows.

I use Xubuntu currently, an older version of it, works pretty good for basic use but to tell you the truth I also have Windows XP on a separate offline PC (mostly for using media converting tools and DVD shrink which you cannot find for the linux OS).

I was thinking of installing FreeDOS on a stand alone with Windows ME on top as an old school gaming rig.

See React OS instead of FreeDOS. Seems to have better development.

A friend of mine does this with rather good results. WinME isn't all that bad so long as you feed it plenty of ram.

>>11928
FreeDOS and ReactOS are two totally different things with totally different goals. I wouldn't expect ReactOS to have any better DOS compatibility than NT (which was really poor, and getting worse).

Instead of reignite the flame, why don't you contribute somehow? If you just came here, that's the way it works: do something, or leave.

If you are not used to using Linux, I recommend starting with Ubuntu. Unless you have a very good reason, starting with a pentest-specialized OS like Kali or BackBox seems stupid - I don't see why anyone would want to use these for general purpose computing. If you are experienced with Linux or don't mind a very steep learning curve, I would recommend Arch Linux or Gentoo.

4 GB USB probably enough, some OS will require 8 GB.

OP might like parrotOS or Lionsec. Parrot has an everyday suite and is a pentesting distro. Same thing with Lionsec it is ubuntu with a shitload of tools.

For anonymisation I suggest whonix
For penitration testing I suggest Backtrack 5r3
For personal use I suggest mint linux or arch linux
For linix hardware, if you want to leave microsoft i suggest System76
Or raspberry pi, pitop or piseed

Try the Live CD version of many distros without installing, until you find one you're happiest with.
Some distros are only 11Mb, others are larger than 4Gb so is case dependent whether it will fit a 4Gb USB drive.
