DESIGNATED CONTAINMENT THREAD Anonymous Board owner 10/14/2019 (Mon) 00:31:30 [Preview] No. 13819
Questions, links, advertisements, funposts that don't deserve a thread all goes in here. Questions relating to /tech/ are not obligated to be answered here.

Anonymous 10/22/2019 (Tue) 00:15:15 [Preview] No.13855 del
Is uMatrix a safe firefox addon?
Creater/Developer is someone who calls themselves gorhill(Raymond Hill) that had also developed the uBlock ad-blocking add-on.

Typically use HTTPSEverywhere, which is developed by the EFF, and if that turned out to have backdoors or analytical code, would go against the entire organizations purpose, and Noscript, which one had its website featuring an advertisement with a malicious .exe file for windows 10 users.

>Is uMatrix a safe firefox addon?
Obviously no.
>Noscript
In addition, another anon here on /tech/ actuality uncovered the fact that Noscript has been ban targeted by the developer of Palemoon because it has a relationship to the United States Marine Corps. Unfortunately, I don't have a link to the old thread handy.

"obviously no" would apply to things like ghostery and disconnect. Explain how uMatrix isn't safe?

>Noscript ban targeted by Palemoon dev
>USMC
Its at >>12708
and its because the palemoon developers are a bunch of faggots who went full autist on OpenBSD developers for porting their software and are furries. They were really retarded for blacklisting noscript on their browser which is known by many, and even advertises, its security superiority over other browsers.

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO BLOCKCHAN AND WHY IS THAT THREAD LOCKED HOW IS IT OFF TOPIC YOUR ALL FAGGOTS

Anonymous 10/26/2019 (Sat) 13:54:08 [Preview] No.13867 del
>>13866
Two reasons that I can see.

Because the primary focus of that thread was "why" not "how," and the why was all about cultural wars and politics.

Because there are a sufficient number of users here that want a technology board, not another colony of /pol/ where everything is viewed, and analyzed, and batted about, through a lens of unrelated sociological frameworks.

I believe we are on out third generation of Endchan's /tech/ board. Presently our board is comfortably slow and reasonably flexible with topics and commentary. We also appear to have a board staff with insight to the nature of image-boards, and are on top of current trends and events. I am happy with them tugging on the reins a bit to keep things more traditionally geeky. Being geeky is not about hijacking fucking everything with societal discussion, political advocacy, or philosophical argumentation.

Bitch uploaded the source code on GITHUB(M$) and used CLOUDFLARE for the .ca link, he screwed himself over in the end. RIP. I think Github is the main culprit, Cloudflare is just the extra cherry on top. Now I said that thread was off topic as in its entirety pretty much at the first post after the OP was turned into butthurt by some people here and also reactionary butthurt to that butthurt and an downwards spiral of butthurt ensured.

>librem 5 is clearly fucked and the Purism PR is just an unethical damage control attempt at this point
pinephone is literally a deus ex machina

Care to elaborate?

Anonymous 11/11/2019 (Mon) 00:39:27 [Preview] No.13889 del
>>13888
>Librem 5 says and also implies on many occasions that alpha phone is now shipping to customers
>no-one outside the company received one, except a youtuber who was reviewing it with the CEO
>a few *weeks* later CEO makes a post saying there were issues and only employees got the phone
>no apology, just a small update and him pointing to four cases in the past where Purism told users what was going on, pretending that is exemplary transparency.
I wish they would just admit things are fucked and they need help instead of hoping on Mr. Bones' Wild Hype Train to save their project.

Pinephone went public years after Librem 5 and is now about the same level of completion and seems like a generally better product at a quarter (yes, a quarter) of the price. Pinephone tried to make hardware instead of an entire phone ecosystem and it paid off. If that project hadn't shown up, there would be no alternative to Librem 5 which appears to be kind of fucked.

Anonymous 11/11/2019 (Mon) 00:41:57 [Preview] No.13890 del
>>13889
>told users what was going on
about unrelated, old issues, just clarifying.

Basically, Pinephone is a community driven project where Pine64 can just focus on getting the hardware right, while Librem is a NIL-syndrome phone which is idealistic but would have been awesome.

me, thinking about systemd loading the services: "yeah yeah… it's because it's very secure… sure…"

Well, I can only point out the obvious, you are missing a library which is either not there or not properly located. Maybe a language a version issue though unlikely.
Sorry for the lateness of this reply, you probably solved this already.
