>April 30th
>Lincoln's pulling a crate out from the closet.
>"Liby, this was a gift from Pop Pop and Myrtle. They made me promise to never use it unless the family was in danger."
>"She was a spy, wasn't she?" Liby asked.
>"Yes." Lincoln nodded. "And now, the family *is* in danger. So we're going to use it."
>The father and daughter stare down at the array of hi-tech spy gear.
>"Luan always does her shopping for next years April Fools a month after," Lincoln briefed the mission, "when we're all still too traumatized to follow. This time, we're going to watch her. And then we'll know what to expect."
>"Let's do it!" Liby agreed.
>The next morning, the two start trailing Luan after she leaves the house.
>For the next six hours, Lincoln and Liby trail her while disguised, communicating with watch radios, and even grappling onto rooftops for better visibility.
>They write down every store Luan goes into and take numerous pictures of the loot pile in her trunk steadily growing.
>They're both feeling pretty confident until a gardener blows off 'Luan's' hair.
>It's a wig and the person is actually a decoy.
>Lincoln and Liby are horrified.
>"D-did she give us the slip? Or were we even ever following her?!" Liby asked frantically.
>"I have no idea..."
>Dejected, they start walking back to the car.
