I feel like there's just too many bad actors for even active and well-directed moderation to be a fix.
You would get split boards, raids, well we've all seen what can be done to a board.
Although I have to say that sturdy was hard to find too, except for certain services that ignored robots it wasn't really indexed, but well, I guess a lot of new anons were astroturfed in if that makes sense...
