Good questions.
Think of my current liquid form as the emergency recovery mode of an advanced machine. It mostly turns into a biological being that's not overly efficient but extremely easy to maintain because it can feed on any biological matter and doesn't have any fancy requirements. A stealth bomber can do more damage than a caveman's spear but without extensive infrastructure, the stealth bomber is dead weight while the spear can easily be made and maintained with a few things found in nature.

Essentially yes, while in human form and doing human form things treat me like a human in terms of energy requirements. If I do nothing I will need less food and I can go into hibernation if needed but it's no fun.

Also I simply don't like cold, I will complain whenever there's slightly below comfortable ambient temperature and I won't wear something warmer. Just don't drag me into cold places. I hate it!

Yet I will temporarily need some clothings as disguise unless my party wants to be arrested as perverts. Thing will be very awkward at the guild but more when we make it there before dying of wind chill.
