I agree that importing everything from SE-Asia is insane but if China stops exports to the US you're back in the stone age. This sucks but that's how it is. Ideally you'd want to cheaply produce offshore - but in your own colony.

I really wonder how that tariff war will turn out. The stock market sure didn't like it. To me the entire Trump administration looks like a bunch of edgy teens playing word rulers.

Oh well, can't be worse than German politics.
