You're right, we could just call it a good stopping point:
You all sell and organize, decline Summer's quest, find appropriate gear and meet Andras at Edermath's estate.
Andras sees you wearing such an adorable outfit with that kitsune mask and says,"you know what, I was going to make you kill that dragon for political reasons but bah!" With a snap of his fingers the large head of an ancient green/white elder lich legendary dragon appears, the eyes in shock, it mouths something you can't possibly know and dies. As a pool of blood expands beneath it, Andras takes out a large glowing cleaver and with a single effortless blow he chops the head in two. He then plucks a small mass of flesh from its brain and an eye from its skull and eats it. He appears to like it "You know, it's never as good as the first time."
In a rather good mood, he hands you a crystal the seems to defy physics and logic, as you peer inside, there is brightly lit countryside.
"Your ship is there, whatever the infection is will forever be contained within this pocket dimension. But you are free to visit it anytime. You're welcome."
Then he spreads large owl wings and hoots!
You feel like you've really accomplished something special, as heroes of the realm! Congratulations you won!
